Scott Miller, Volunteer Coordinator
Scott grew up in New Jersey and attended college in Florida. He began skydiving in 1990 and started working as a skydiving
instructor, photographer, and test jumper.
Scott created a unique skydiving curriculum offered by the Freedom of Flight Canopy School, which Scott opened in 2000 and
operated through 2007. Scott and other experienced diving coaches created an organization called Flight-1, a training
network with campuses in Florida, Colorado, and California. The Freedom of Flight/Flight-1 curriculum has been emulated by a
number of other coaches and schools, and was used as the basis for official training recommendations published by the United
States Parachute Association.
Scott presented training courses around the US, and in Canada, Europe, and Australia. He also wrote several educational
articles which have been published by skydiving-related print magazines and web sites.
Scott's first visit to CPT was in December of 2006 as part of a workgroup. He moved to the Raleigh area from Florida in
2007, and became a Tour Guide Volunteer in January of 2008. Scott joined CPT staff at the end of May.
Scott is especially fond of Bocca Caracal and Lucky Tiger. When Scott's not at CPT he enjoys sailing, fishing, reading,
writing, daydreaming, and yoga.
