History
Among some tour guides at CPT, Cheyenne Caracal is known for his ability to catch pieces of meat tossed to him in mid-air. When I visit him, he usually gets the bits of lean beef on a stick. He watches intently as the stick approaches and then suddenly pounces on it, often using his paw and claws to clutch the stick so that the treat can’t get away!

Cheyenne is a wary caracal and almost never chirrups a friendly greeting. From time to time, he also makes sure that you know he is a fierce cat, not to be messed with. But he likes some company, too, and will come sit at the fence or in the corner of his enclosure watching while his neighbors, binturongs Bok and Keanu, get fruit treats.

His eyes are one of Cheyenne’s best features – they are penetrating and look as if he can see right inside you. Spending time with Cheyenne is a treat for us!
