Volunteer!

Volunteering at CPT is a great way to become intimately involved with CPT and its animals. We rely heavily on volunteers and their special talents. We accept volunteers in all aspects of our operation. We are in need of volunteers in the following areas:
  • Animal Care
  • Construction and Maintenance
  • Office Work (answering phones, filing)
  • Gift Shop Staff
  • Guiding Tours
  • Fundraising and Marketing
If you have any special talents, please let us know. This includes things such as mechanical, plumbing, carpentry, and electrical skills. We are also always looking for help planning and carrying out special fundraising and marketing events. If you have a talent, we can put it to work!

Requirements

There are age requirements here at CPT. They are as follows:
  • Animal Care and Guiding Tours – 18 or older
  • Construction – 16 or older
  • Office Work and Gift Shop – 14 or older

Due to the training involved in volunteering at CPT we have the expectation that our volunteers commit to a minimum number of hours. You must be able to commit at least 8 hours a month (two volunteer sessions) for at least 6 consecutive months. For animal care, you must be able to commit at least 16 hours a month (4 hours a week) for at least 6 consecutive months.

How to Volunteer
  1. Contact us and include your address information so we can send you an application packet.
  2. Fill out the application and mail it back to CPT.
  3. Set up a schedule for training and volunteering.
  4. Have fun!

Group Volunteering
We make special arrangements for work groups (school groups, university clubs, civic groups, etc.) to come out and help us at CPT. Work groups are often helping with compound maintenance, construction, and groundskeeping projects. To make arrangements for a work group, please contact us.
